A baby raccoon gets lost and ends up with a family. The children take care of it and slowly get attached to it. The baby raccoon grows older and begins to act like the wild animal it is. Finally, the children are made to understand that the raccoon must ultimately be returned to the wild. It is a difficult thought to bear, but it is the right thing to do.
