Notă biografică

Charles A. Blanchard (1848-1925) was an American Christian minister, educator, and the second president of Wheaton College. A prominent figure in the 19th-century anti-Masonic movement, Blanchard was a staunch opponent of secret societies, believing that fraternal oaths inherently conflicted with Christian doctrine. To combat their influence, he authored and compiled several highly detailed exposés of Masonic rituals. Today, his exhaustive manuals are ironically utilized by historians and practicing Freemasons as incredibly accurate historical records of 19th-century American Masonic ceremonies.
