It has helped me, as a dog person, to understand cats more.During the reading I noticed that Sylvia has that rare skill of feeling and creating a sense of place. You can believe yourself in that environment with Rufus. Also Sylvia has managed to think small and see things from the cat's diminutive point of view.Anthropomorphism is a difficult thing to do well, but Sylvia has managed to do it without the usual sentiment and saccharine. She has easily done it on a level with Black Beauty and The Incredible Journey. It's a great plot too.Therefore I really do recommend this book with five stars... Read it...
