The American experience with constitutional conventions is explored from The Mayflower Compact to the need for a contemporary convention with emphasis on the Federal Convention of 1787, the 1967 Senate Hearings, the use of "chance amendment" by the Supreme Court and the appalling attitude of modern political figures regarding a contemporary convention.
