John Clayton is the award-winning author of The Cowboy Girl: The Life of Caroline Lockhart. For this book, he worked with the Carbon County Historical Society to select and write about images that illustrate the stories of the hardworking miners, cowboys, and dreamers who made lives for themselves in this picturesque and character-filled little Western town.
