Rage and Hope: The Women's Movement through Its Most Powerful Campaigns
Autor Regina Luttrellen Limba Engleză Hardback – 2 iul 2027
How did frustration transform into action, and hope sustain a movement through more than a century of setbacks and victories? The answer lies in something most people overlook: public relations.
Exploring carefully crafted campaigns and rare historical artifacts, spanning suffrage to modern-day feminism, Rage and Hope shows the calculated risks, the brilliant messaging, and the media savvy that turned whispers of dissent into roars that could not be ignored.
Regina Luttrell pulls back the curtain on the strategic campaigns that turned feminist ideals into cultural revolutions. Rare historical artifacts showcased throughout the book offer tangible connections to the past, anchoring the story in rich historical context.
But this isn't just a history lesson. Rage and Hope examines the dual forces that have always driven the women's movement: rage at injustice and discrimination, and hope for a better future. It's this potent combination that sparked waves of activism and sustained momentum through every defeat, every backlash, every moment when progress seemed impossible. Refusing to shy away from controversy, the book confronts the internal tensions, intersectional challenges, and critiques that at times threatened to undermine the movement's endgame.
Rage and Hope offers unprecedented insight into one of history's most transformative movements. It shows how women from all backgrounds turned fury into strategy, hope into headlines, and whispers into a movement that changed the world.

Recenzii
In today's political climate, answering the call to fight for equality takes courage and tenacity. Reading Rage and Hope: The Women's Movement Through Its Most Powerful Campaigns reminded me that my power to make a difference lies in moving beyond comfort and privilege to share my story and uplift others. Many women have fought for equality and brought real change despite the risks, both in history and in my lifetime. Thank you for telling their story so we can find inspiration in their legacy and carry on the work!
Regina Luttrell weaves a narrative of feminism and public communication through the history of advocacy in the suffrage, abolitionist, civil rights, and LGBTQIA+ movements. All of these used the power of media relations, events, interpersonal and small group communication, and later, social media. Her multicultural and personal storytelling lens is to be applauded.
Rage and Hope is a meticulously documented journey through historical (and historic) public relations campaigns and a thank-you letter to our courageous older sisters whose strategies and sacrifices gave birth to new generations of possibility and opportunity. It is a vocal validation of the emotions and experiences that societies throughout history have expected women to keep quietly private. Luttrell's work reminds us that struggles and setbacks are not reasons for us to give up, but evidence for why we must keep going.
