First came the heat, then came the storms. Now the air itself is a weapon.
It was never just about surviving the dark. Frozen beneath the Greenland ice for millennia, Mycosis-A waited-patient and ancient-until the relentless solar heat finally set it free. Now it's spreading, and for the Mackenzie clan of Hardin Creek, Kentucky, the enemy is no longer out on the road; it's in every breath they take.
Burgundy Mackenzie has finally had enough of her uncle's sabotage. She packs up Poppy and heads to Frost Hellebuyck's fledgling commune-the one place she still believes in. But even sanctuary has a price when another woman has set her sights on Frost and is willing to burn everything down to get him. Hundreds of miles away, Auburn's group discovers better transportation-only for the military to try to seize it, and Cormac, pushing hard for home, finds himself standing between a woman in labor and a world that has stopped caring about the living.
Three journeys, one fractured family, and a plague with no cure and no mercy. When the lights went out, the Mackenzies learned to fight in the dark... but nothing had prepared them for an enemy they could not see. And they are running out of time to find each other before the air finishes what the sun started.
