Notă biografică

Vladimir Akopian is an Armenian-American chess Grandmaster who won three youth world championships between 1986 and 1991 while simultaneously earning the grandmaster title. In 2002 he defeated then FIDE world number one Garry Kasparov in the "Russia vs. The Rest of the World" match. As of 2021 he represents the USA. In 2024 he went undefeated winning the U.S. Senior Chess Championship and he won his second US Senior Championship title in 2026.
