Like many women today I reached a point in my life when I decided it would be a good time to start a family of my own. I assumed that pregnancy would just happen when I was ready. But it didn't. Choosing the IVF pathway, I tell my story of the emotional and psychological challenges I faced from the IVF journey itself, and of how these challenges impacted on my way of thinking and self-belief system. My confidence spiralled and alongside my eroded sense of self-worth, past experiences bubbled to the surface - experiences I had never truly accepted and moved on from. I have developed my own strategies and cognitive processes to deal with IVF issues and other emotional 'baggage'. From recognising and understanding "hormone logic," to asking myself the "5 Questions," I have survived IVF and emerged emotionally cleansed.
