Principle of Locality asks what it means to be 'here'. Can you stay in one place and still experience the world? What does it mean to be local in a world blown about by conflict and human-induced change?
The poems ask what it means to be equal when equality feel like an arbitrary symbol. Written from a city that is ordinary and unremarkable, the collection reflects the whole world in its economy, its politics, its history of colonization and immigration.
At its heart, Principle of Locality is built on an underlying faith that no place on earth can be totally separate from this round globe with its continuous sky.
