Power and ambition collide with betrayal, secrets and scandal in this corporate-political thriller - from author and former federal MP Julia Banks.
I enter the boardroom turned crisis-meeting war room. Concerned, anticipatory looks all around ... People stop talking. The room becomes silent but heavy with a sombre weight. All eyes are on me.
Anna Carson is a wife, mother, friend and high-profile businesswoman. She knows that the illusion of having it all means working harder than the men in her office, dancing around egos and casual sexism.
After decades of showing she has what it takes - calm in a crisis, strong, decisive, a leader - Anna is about to be announced as the CEO of a global company. But, if she knows anything, it's to trust her instincts, and they tell her something is wrong. A 5.30 am phone call brings shocking news and, within days, Anna looks like becoming collateral damage in someone else's game. Some will stop at nothing to smear her reputation. But, they should have realised .... never underestimate a woman with nothing to lose.
A compelling and fascinating novel, Prime Instinct dissects the consequences when power and ambition collide with betrayal and secrets within corporate boardrooms and the halls of government.
