She then enlists her companion Tsura to help her steal Vivaldi's body and return it to Venice. There, she meets the newly sired, very angry Printemps. Under guidance from her and Poenari, Printemps hones his fledgling vampire skills while they escort him back to France. Before going on to England, Lenore seeks advice from the French writer Voltaire in Brussels on how to close the breach between her and William. Flash forward to 1965 where the frustrating search for Radu reminds Lenore of her second encounter with him Wallachia in 1765 and how the ingenuity of his infamous brother, Vlad Tepes, helped to defeat him.
