Pray big prayers. And then listen to how God responds.
Prayer-direct conversation with God-is one of the most powerful tools a Christian has to make change in the world and in ourselves. And yet, so many of us don't know how to pray. Our minds wander. Our hearts aren't aligned with our thoughts. We don't know what to say or what to ask for.
Bil Cornelius, author of USA Today bestseller I Dare You to Change! and pastor of Church Unlimited in Corpus Christi Texas, wants Christians to see prayer as not just a means to present our requests to God, but as a key element of a relationship with God. Prayer is not just about talking to God, but listening to how God responds.
In Pray Big, Listen Bigger, Bil shares the miraculous story of how his life and his church were changed by an audacious goal of praying for 100 hours, and how that changed everything he thought he knew about what prayer was and how it worked. In this book he shares:
- How being accountable to intentional prayer is a game-changing discipline
- Common obstacles that can keep us from enjoying the intimate prayer life with God we were made for
- The importance of listening to God for a change
- How to respond when God doesn't answer our prayers
- How to hear God speak to you and discern His voice
Ultimately, this is a thoughtful, insightful, and encouraging guide to the incredible and life-changing gift of prayer.
