Christiana DinahChristiana Dinah is the Macula Service and Research Lead at Central Middlesex Hospital. She is the Ophthalmology Specialty Co-Lead for the NIHR Clinical Research Network Northwest London and the Deputy National Lead for NIHR Ophthalmology. She is also honorary senior clinical lecturer at Imperial College, London. She completed her medical retina fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, and then became a consultant at Central Middlesex Hospital, where she set up the award-winning research department. She has served as Chief Investigator or Principal Investigator in over 25 clinical trials from phase 1-4 and is a member of global trial steering committees. Her research interests are in age-related macular degeneration and retinovascular diseases and she is passionate about patient-centric research design and inclusion in clinical research. As Director of Research and Innovation at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, her ambition is to boost industry and charity partnerships and mentor new researchers in clinical research. She loves tennis and swimming, although she now watches more than plays!Gwyn Samuel WilliamsGwyn Samuel Williams attended medical school at King’s College London and completed his ophthalmology training on the Wales circuit. He undertook a year’s fellowship in medical retina and uveitis at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and from June 2016 onwards he has been a consultant in Swansea specialising in medical retina and inflammatory eye disease. He is an honorary Associate Professor at Swansea University and from 2020-2023 was Llywydd of the RCOphth in Wales and Clinical Lead for Ophthalmology to the Welsh Government. He has a keen interest in reading, writing and hiking through the beautiful Welsh countryside, and was Plaid Cymru’s candidate for the 2019 and 2024 elections in his constituency of Swansea West.
