Power & Peril
Autor John Barryen Limba Engleză Paperback – 8 sep 2026
Drawing upon a lifetime of experience in combat aviation, national security strategy, crisis leadership, education reform, and public service, John Barry's Power & Peril takes readers on a sweeping journey through the recurring struggles that have shaped both the American presidency and the nation itself. From the county's earliest debates over the balance of power to modern conflicts involving executive authority, tariffs, immigration, war powers, alliances, and democratic norms, this thought-provoking work connects the lessons of history to the defining challenges of today.
Power & Peril explores how nations drift toward uncertainty not only through external threats, but also through internal overreach, institutional weakness, and the erosion of strategic discipline. The book examines the growing tension between increasingly polarized politics and constitutional governance, the pressures reshaping America's role in the world, and the risks that emerge when power moves faster than accountability. At once a warning, a reflection, and a call for principled leadership, Power & Peril challenges readers to consider whether the United States can preserve its strength and its democratic foundations in an era of rising instability.
