Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disorder that affects about 2.1 million Indians and Americans. Disease-modifying anti-inflammatory (DMAIDs) and anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) are the recent Morden therapy against rheumatoid arthritis. Because of their high cost, the prolonged use of many of these drugs is associated with severe adverse reactions and toxicity. It is also an interesting note that many of allopathic practitioners practicing some traditional medicine to treat arthritis at M.K.C.G. Medical College, Berhampur, Ganjam, Odisha. This book is the product of a qualitative study under taken for Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (Pharmacology). It based on herbal therapy of selected ethno medicinal plants and their Polyhebal mixture in syrup base against Freund's adjuvant induced arthritic rats. This book shares the efficacy and safety use of herbal products in chronic periods for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
