This volume is a translation of a series of articles which provide key information on a variety of contemporary political movements throughout the Islamic world. While many of the parties discussed have adopted an Islamic approach to politics, secular movements -- such as the Communist movement -- are also given attention. The leadership, ideology, following and role of the parties in contemporary history are also discussed.
