The General Government,the eastern portion of German occupied Poland, became the central crime scene of the Holocaust. In 1941, about 2.3 million Jews lived under catastrophic conditions in this area, in ghettos and forced labor camps. This volume documents the preparation, planning, and execution of the crimes, individual and collective Jewish resistance in the ghettos and the camps.
