Originally published in 1905 as part of the Cambridge English Classics series, this book contains the English poems of Abraham Cowley (1618–67): Miscellanies, The Mistress, Pindarique Odes, Davideis, and Verses Written on Several Occasions. The text is drawn from the first collected edition of Cowley's works, published in 1668, and includes a biography of Cowley written by Thomas Sprat, later Dean of Westminster and Bishop of Rochester.
