Avery Wolfe has seen too much death and sadness in her life to believe in a loving God. It's just the occupational hazard of being a homicide detective. Her partner and good friend Christopher Ramsey believes exactly the opposite- that God has a plan for everything. Then a confounding case comes along of the murder of a beautiful and talented teenage girl and threatens to forever change Avery's relationship with Chris and her beliefs about God.
