Planet Plutocracy

Autor Stewart Lansley
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 27 apr 2027
For decades, a small elite of financial and corporate barons has secured towering personal fortunes by hijacking the process of wealth creation. This wealth and power grab has turned large parts of the economy into mechanisms of personal enrichment with profound consequences: Britain is now a country of abundancy and scarcity; of lavish private spending and failing public services. With key industries and markets turned into cash machines for investors, our capacity to meet essential needs is being relentlessly eroded.
A challenge to the idea that 'there is no money left', this book argues that contemporary governments have misdiagnosed the drivers of today's acute slowdown in progress and living standards. Offering an original take on the mechanisms that have created Britain's unsustainable economic model, this book sets out detailed proposals for an alternative political economy that harnesses national resources for economic renewal.
