Starting from a blog about my knee surgery after losing my insurance and not given a choice about Medi-Cal, I wrote this book as a simple journey through a complicated system that turned into quite the adventure. From going to a county hospital and waiting to be seen to waiting at home without being able to walk for an appointment to see the doctors. I was one in a million of the forgotten sick and injured until I chose to fight back.
