Personal Weather

As she nears the end of her life, an older woman and former writer decides to share the one story she has left with her robotic personal care assistant, Bruno--the story of how she and her friends, each from a different part of the world, fell in love with the promise of Berlin in the early 2020s. There, among art and friends from different corners of the world, she falls in love--with a woman, with the city itself--just as, in another city, Hamas attacks Israel on October 7, 2023, setting off a brutal war on Palestine and a crackdown on protesters on the streets of a city she once called home.

Inspired by real cases of censorship, discrimination, violence, and a global rise in fascism, Personal Weather is a coming-of-age story that is both contemporary and nostalgic, an urgent allegory for what it means to live through dark times.
