Insurance investigators Valerie Sloan and Rocky Russo are back in the third Risk Series adventure, looking for a stolen musical instrument. Their investigation takes them to Northeast Pennsylvania's historic town of Jim Thorpe, as they search for a long-lost Irish fiddle.
Valerie's friends and occasional employers, the Lambert Brothers, ask her to locate a missing Irish fiddle for its owner, Laurence Pirrie. She takes the case, despite personal struggles that threaten to derail her.
In Jim Thorpe, Valerie and Rocky befriend some local townspeople to help them. Valerie finds a family connection, but a local political agitator confronts them. The town's largest employer sees them as a nuisance. As they tour the town, they find forces at play that stir up old animosities and possibly some ethereal spirits. Even if they find the fiddle, they may be in the crossfire between old and new vendettas.
Caught between political factions, can Valerie and Rocky retrieve the fiddle without getting killed?
