Pennybridge is a tiny village off the beaten track in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. There, Mark Jacobs arrives as the new pastor of an historic little church whose members, as those of the community around them, comprise a cast of characters unlike any he has ever encountered. There he must find whether he can personally live by the spiritual truths he tries to teach his new parishioners, even while he tries to rebuild his own broken past. In the brief span of one year, humor, tragedy, adventure, mystery and romance are woven together to a surprising conclusion.
