An independent bookstore dog takes center stage in this can't-miss picture book inspired by a real dog and written by an indie bookseller.
Penny the dog has the best life! She gets to spend every day at a bookstore that has her name on the door. While her owner, Amy, takes care of business, Penny spends her days welcoming customers, fetching recommendations, and entertaining young readers. But Penny's favorite time of day is when the mail carrier arrives, and she runs to help him. Penny loves everyone and everyone loves Penny. Well, almost everyone. When a new mail carrier, Jordan, is assigned to the bookstore route, Penny learns he is afraid of dogs--he's afraid of her! Jordan is so frightened that he won't bring the deliveries into the store. Mail gets misplaced and packages are damaged. What can Penny do to convince Jordan she is the friendliest, most helpful bookstore dog ever?
Inspired by a real dog, a real bookstore, and a real event, Penny's Pages will charm booklovers of all ages. Back matter includes information on how a bookstore operates.
