A debut graphic novel from Canadian cartoonist Nick Thorburn that tells stories of death, love, and a search for companionship, relying on visual expression and the physical movements of his penguin characters alone, drawing on the power of sequential drawing to provide miniaturised sequential stories, a series of interconnected strips. And without words or human characters, Thorburn does more to showcase the breadth of emotion we as humans experience than most prose novels.
