Emmie McGee has worked at a gas station for nine years, and she still can't pay her rent. Rather than seeking help, she's been running a scheme on graveyard shift, involving stealing product from her employer and reselling it in the back lot. She has no time for complications or interruptions-until the owner's son is placed on her shift to manage her.
Drew Bailey is a failed gold-digger. After proposing to his wealthy girlfriend (for the sixth time) and being rejected (for the sixth time), she instructs him to get his career together if he wants to marry her. When he sees an opportunity for a promotion at his father's company, he takes it. All he has to do is work grave shift to weed out the criminal who's been stealing their product.
As they work together every night, Emmie and Drew have found a verbal match in each other. Drew learns the reality of working at his family's company, and Emmie, unable to run her scheme, might have to ask for help.
