Suntem de părere că educația emoțională începe prin povești care oglindesc realități complexe, iar Paper Things este o invitație la dialog despre reziliență și empatie. Deși formatul de tip roman grafic sau interactiv ar putea sugera la prima vedere activități precum stickerele sau paginile de colorat, interactivitatea acestui volum rezidă în exercițiul profund de imaginație pe care îl propune: cititorul este invitat să „decupeze” și să asambleze realitatea fragmentată a lui Ari, o fetiță de unsprezece ani care încearcă să-și păstreze demnitatea și rezultatele școlare în timp ce nu are un acoperiș stabil deasupra capului.
