The setting is in the area of the West Texas Desert about 1859 where the opening scene finds the character, severely wounded, without food, water, weapons, shelter, or, and most importantly without a memory of who he is, how he got to where he is, and if he can survive even another day. Can I live off the land as the Apache does? Where did that thought come from? Who will help? Will the person who left him here for dead return? Do I even care? How would you fare in the same condition?
