Recenzii
D.'s commentary proves itself a worthy entryinto the catalogue of commentaries on Ovid. Although this is a text with a clear intention towards use in Latin instruction or for students new to Ovid, the commentary's thoroughness and D.'s readability make this a valuable resource for any scholar of elegy.
...Davis repeatedly succeeds in making subtle observations on details that have escaped McKeown, and which at times noticeably enhance our understanding of the elegies. His contribution to the Ovid Library is highly commendable, and any reader of the Amores would be well advised to keep it at hand alongside McKeown whilst reading.
