Dr. Garzon accepts an invitation from Felix O'Neill to visit him at an isolated estate but he soon finds himself involved with child murder in a house of fear. The estate is owned by O'Neill's uncle, an eccentric professor who is surrounded by his obsequious amanuensis, an oriental governess, strange children, cowled monks and nocturnal intruders.
