Cricket Calloway knows what she's doing. Okay, maybe not when it comes to dating. But it's fine because she's got the biggest client of her career, and planning a New Year's Eve wedding is going to put her on the map. The dating thing... well, her six-year-old niece, Libby, thinks she's got that covered. Her idea: write Santa a letter with what Cricket wants in a man. Cricket goes along with the joke. After all, it's cathartic after yet another dating disaster.
Architect Jake Wells has been part of Cricket's life for two decades. Being her older brother's best friend since middle school makes him close enough to be family and far enough to make her off-limits. He's never let himself think about her as anything else.
Until he does.
Somewhere between a school Christmas play and a near-kiss while hanging lights, they're both in over their heads. But falling quietly is one thing. What comes next is another-and Jake's got until midnight on New Year's Eve to make it right.
