After a night of celebratory partying, Duncan Kovacs and his team of security specialists, the Wind Riders, find themselves somehow transported to the other end of the Galaxy. Hired without their knowledge or consent to fight as mercenaries for a planet under attack by superior forces using unknown weapons and possibly advanced weapons systems. But the unscrupulous Mercenary Guild did not do their research and what they got was more than what they bargained for.
