On the first warm day in March, a little girl and her mum open every window in their house, breathing in the fresh breeze. Then, together, they begin their Khaneh-Tekani - spring cleaning - and plant barley seeds that will sprout into bright green sabzeh, because this time of the year is for spring ... green is for life!

They visit the market to choose flowers and delicious foods; prepare the Haft-Sin with its seven symbolic items; light a bonfire for Chaharshanbe Suri; gather for the joyful first day of the season, the equinox; and, finally, come together for Sizdah Be-dar, a picnic by the river, where they release their sabzeh into the water.
