On a small farm in the village of Cattaraugus, NY, nestled in the idyllic foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, two women endeavor to unravel the secrets that have yoked them to lives of repetitious suffering. Oppressed by the impositions of chauvinism and misogyny, and the double standards of corrupt, male-dominated politics, each must find a way to resolve, redeem and resurrect her life. Nicquellyn, a gifted healer and spiritualist, will defy the odds; experience her greatest triumph, and; stoke the religious zeal of a madman. Karen, a demure housewife and victim of domestic abuse, will ignore the voice of her instincts; rationalize her suffering, and; stoke the ego of a narcissistic, manipulative monster. Which woman will survive; which woman will succumb? Perhaps both - perhaps neither - but, in the end, each will be profoundly changed.
