"New Dawn," the first story of a trilogy, introduces readers to Dawn, a plucky 15-year-old girl trying to make her way in a post-apocalyptic world. She travels from her home in Colorado to Four Corners, a small community of survivors on the Virginia/North Carolina border, just north of the Great Dismal Swamp. She works as a scav, which means she scours the surrounding area for anything the residents can use. She proves herself resourceful, reliable, and someone you would not want to cross. One day, by chance or fate, she finds something that changes everything.
