Communitarian thought has been dismissed as, at best, little more than a corrective to the excesses of liberalism and, at worst, as a form of 'old-fashioned collectivism.' This volume aims to provide an account of communitarian thought which answers charges c=such as these while establishing communitarian philosophy as a robust theory in its own right.
