Recenzii
How do people construct meaning of their experiences and convey it to others? This volume is a uniquely valuable entreé into the use of narrative story completion methodology for answering this question. The authors explore different methods, unpack their theoretical foundations, present provocative data elucidating what these methods show, and raise important questions for future study. With research applications spanning early childhood to adult, and consideration of cultural and linguistic diversity, this volume is an essential resource for researchers in many fields.
First-rate international researchers have composed a comprehensive review, synthesis, and critical analysis of Narrative Story Completion Methodologies (NSCM) that will assist anyone embarking on narrative research and be of great interest to those who have engaged in narrative research for a long time. The history and breadth of NSCM methodology will astonish all. Not only is this a volume of methodologies, it also has a great deal of valuable content results, not the least of which is its timely consideration of fascinating cultural differences in narration.
This is a distinctive, useful, and contemporary book. It provides practitioners and researchers from different disciplines with fresh, thought-provoking ideas, and highlights relevant work about Narrative Story Completion Methodologies. Readers are provided with not simply 'what' and 'why' responses about these methodologies. They are taken on different journeys layered with rich examples and practical advice about 'how' Story Completion might be done to deliver wide-ranging benefits.
