Even though all of my life I have been warned not to look directly at the sun, He radiates a light that is almost blinding, but at the same time I am drawn to look at it; no, stare at it. While I cannot see His face, I know that it is Him, the beginning and the end. He is the One I place my hope. In the absence of solid ground, there lies the darkness wanting, waiting to consume me. Coming up from beneath me, there are a horde of dark, faceless figures; confused, but surprisingly not afraid, I only focus on Him. They cannot stop me, and they cannot have me; He will not allow them to win. As a result of her own upbringing and incestuous trauma, a mother's brokenness led to a life coupled with vicious, costly cycles of addiction and the never-ending plague of possession that manifested themselves as multiple personalities. Growing up in this household led two siblings down two very distinct and very different paths. Almost losing his life to the very demons he sent to punish those around him, one child sought out power that can only be manifested in witchcraft while the other sibling attempted to escape the darkness in her mother's footsteps; a life of addiction and a journey of sorrow... this is my story, Raye's story.
