Mwen Pale Kreyòl
Autor Richard Widmack Beloten Limba Engleză Paperback – 28 oct 2026
>It's important to know that this book contains a wide variety of expressions--some formal, some casual, some humorous, and others more nuanced. You are encouraged to use discretion and common sense when deciding which phrases are appropriate for different situations. The purpose is to understand, not offend. The better your comprehension, the more you'll connect--and even protect yourself in unfamiliar situations. Language is a bridge. It brings people together. But that bridge must be crossed with intention. Practicing with native speakers, visiting Haiti, and immersing yourself in the culture will make all the difference in your learning experience.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR AND THE BOOK
>On July 1st, 1984, I moved to the United States to join my mother and the rest of my family. I first spent two weeks in New York with my father and brothers, Herve and Gregory Belot, before settling in Boston, where I have lived ever since. In Boston, I enrolled at Roxbury Community College, where I learned English as a second language and studied two semesters of Spanish. I also took an acting class and began studying Electronics Engineering, but later switched my focus to Communications, graduating from the Northeast School of Broadcasting in television and radio. I continued my education at Emmanuel College, taking advanced Spanish and Italian II, before visiting Rome in 1988.
Years later, in 1993, I began teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to students from diverse backgrounds at the Hyde Park Community Center in Boston, where I taught for seven years. I also taught beginner-level English to adult learners at Thom Metro Boston for two years and later at Roxbury Community College in 2012.
Understanding the importance of serving my community, I felt compelled to reach a broader audience by writing this book. If someone is planning to visit Haiti, they might as well develop the ability to communicate effectively with the people they meet. This book is designed as a quick and practical method to learn Haitian Creole, while also providing insight into Haitian culture and a brief overview of its history.
