Joan Marie Galat is best known for her non-fiction children’s books on astronomy. She’s won the Skipping Stones Award for Dot to Dot in the Sky: Stories in the Clouds and the Crystal Kite Award for Dot to Dot in the Sky: Stories of the Aurora. Galat has been a judge for the Writers Union of Canada, the Writers Guild of Alberta, the Outdoor Writers of Canada, and the Saskatchewan Book and Writing Awards.
Galat’s book launches are quite literal; she launches a copy of a new book into the sky with a rocket!
She has spoken at events and conferences all over Canada and in Australia, South Korea, and Utah.
