"Mo Salah is a better human being than he is a football player. And he's one of the best football players in the world" --John Oliver, Time
Born in Egypt in 1992, Mohamed Salah Hamed Mahrous Ghal learned to play soccer on dusty village fields before joining Switzerland's Super Lg at just 20 years old. After brief stints with Chelsea, Fiorentina and Roma, he signed to Liverpool and led the team to two Premier League Championships in his nine seasons with the club. Named one of Time's most influential people of 2019, Salah is a role model and a hero for Egyptians and Muslims across the globe not only for his career but his outspoken activism against Islamophobia. In this illustrated story, learn how the "Egyptian King," the "Pharaoh" and the "Fourth Pyramid" brought his soccer skills to the world stage, remaining humble and persevering all the way.
