John Grimes, a young, 19 year old, midshipman, is assigned to a frigate in the Anlish navy. When it is ordered to escort the Admiral's snobby daughter across the ocean to Mericano there is sure to be trouble. Grimes, together with his fierce, but brave, captain and his fellow midshipman, Perkins, battle pirates, huge gales, and enemy ships. When they finally reach their destination will all their troubles be over, or will they find that they have only begun.
