Microstructured Photonic Devices: Microring Resonators for Sensing and Filtering Applications
Autor Abdolkarim Afroozeh, Iraj Sadegh Amirien Limba Engleză Hardback – 17 mar 2027
Microstructured Photonic Devices: Microring Resonators for Sensing and Filtering Applications explores generating slow and fast light pulses using microring resonators, introducing new materials and waveguide structures that improve accuracy and speed. It covers systems constructed from advanced materials including InGaAsP/InP, GaAlAs/GaAs, and hydrogenated amorphous silicon, providing foundational concepts and breakthrough research in photonics engineering. The book examines nonlinear optical phenomena, dispersion and nonlinearity effects in optical waveguides, and principles of constructive interference and total internal reflection. Readers will understand how these micron-sized devices function similarly to Fabry-Perot cavities while offering superior performance for telecommunications, medical applications, industrial processes, and laboratory research. The authors bridge theoretical physics with practical engineering, providing the foundation for developing next-generation optical sensors, modulators, detectors, and laser sources.
The book is relevant for professors working in physics, optics, and photonics and engineers and researchers in telecommunications, medical device development, and precision measurement industries.
