Satyabrata Si is a faculty member in the School of Chemical Engineering at KIIT Deemed to be University, India. His research expertise spans nanomaterials, advanced catalysis, polymeric composites, and functional biomaterials for biomedical, environmental, and energy applications. His work particularly focuses on gold and silver nanoparticles, silica-coated nanostructures, graphene quantum dots, hydrogel-based nanomaterials, and catalytic process development for sustainable technologies. Dr. Si has authored and edited several book chapters and review articles in the fields of nanotechnology, catalysis, green chemistry, and process engineering. His research integrates material synthesis, characterization, and application-driven design, with emphasis on translational outcomes in healthcare, sensing, antimicrobial systems, and environmental remediation. He is actively involved in developing interdisciplinary research proposals, including projects related to health care, advanced catalytic systems, energy materials etc. Beyond research, Dr. Si contributes to curriculum design, mentoring of undergraduate and postgraduate students, and academic administration.
Suraj K. Tripathy, head of school of chemical Engineering, KIIT also leads Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering Lab (CBEL) at KIIT which focuses on achieving sustainability in materials processing and utilization. CBEL explores opportunities in valorization of waste materials (secondary resources) and investigates their applications in catalysis, water treatment and biomedical systems. CBEL also works closely with industries to develop suitable waste management and resource recycling strategies to optimize the potential of the circular economy model. Dr. Suraj published more than 70 papers in several good SCI/SCOPUS indexed journals also he has experience over 10 Crore project handling in core chemical process engineering.
Jayato Nayak, Assistant Professor at Mahindra University & Center for Life Sciences, is a leading researcher with over a decade of experience in novel design and applications focused on process intensification. His expertise spans water and wastewater treatment, graphene-integrated photocatalyst development, sludge treatment, and bio-synthesis of value-added products. He collaborates nationally with IITs, NITs, CSIR Labs, and internationally with professionals in Poland, Brazil, Malaysia, Vietnam, among others. With 35+ international peer-reviewed journal papers, 5 Edited books, 35+ book chapters, and 3 filed patents, his research has garnered over 700 citations, achieving an h-index of 14 and i10-index of 15. Dr. Nayak serves as a resource person for webinars, holds editorial roles in 30+ international journals, and has received 5 distinguished awards.
Sankha Chakrabortty is an Associate Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology, KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar. A Gold Medalist Ph.D. from NIT Durgapur, he has over eight years of postdoctoral experience in teaching, research, and technology development. His research focuses on membrane technology, water and wastewater treatment, CO₂ capture and conversion, biomass valorization, and sustainable chemical processes. He has led and contributed to projects funded by DST, UGC, Ministry of Mines, NALCO, and NMDC etc. Dr. Chakrabortty has published over 85 peer-reviewed articles, edited books, and holds several patents (14), including a US patent. He serves as Associate Editor for Scientific Reports, South African Journal of Chemical Engineering, and PLOS Water. An active proposal evaluator for BIRAC and other agencies, he has received multiple awards, including the Hiyoshi Young Leaf Award and Scientist of the Year.
