Listening to his voice and having him sitting across from me, I fought the urge to rush to him and into his lap; to smother him with kisses and to tell him how much I loved and wanted to be with him. Why was I being such a chicken? His eyes were saying everything and it was more than I could possibly have hoped or ever dreamed for. I didn't care about the wife just as I didn't care about Terry. I wanted to be with Tom and Bonnie already knowing the kids would feel the same way. All I had to do was say something, anything! Why wasn't Tom saying anything? I could see it in his eyes how he felt about me. Was he scared of offending me or afraid I'd react badly? Did he think it better just to let things remain as they were? The questions kept popping into my mind and I was going crazy trying to find a way to let him know exactly what I felt. Tom gently moved forward on the couch looking me straight in the eyes, his eyes showing so much love and perhaps even hope- "I did see you that day in Coal Grove."
