Silvia Orvietani Busch, Ph.D. in history, UCLA, and Dottore in Lettere, Universita di Pisa, is Assistant Director at the Strategic Research Initiatives humanities center at UCLA. She is Affiliate of the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies at UCLA and has published several articles on Medieval Mediterranean History.
