Published on the occasion of a travelling exhibition organized by Amedeo Porro Fine Arts, Peter Freeman, Inc., and Galleria d'Arte Moderna Ricci Oddi, this book celebrates the multifaceted practice of Italian artist Medardo Rosso (1858-1928). Mirroring Modernity repositions Rosso as a pioneering modern artist whose work across sculpture, photography, and drawing forms a unified and experimental vision. Showcasing unpublished or lesser-known drawings and photographs, the book reveals overlooked aspects of Rosso's practice.The publication features essays by the curator Francesco Guzzetti, Camilla Gasparini, whose research is dedicated to the systematic cataloguing and study of Rosso's drawings, and Paul Messier, a conservator specializing in the technical and material analysis of photography.

Medardo Rosso was a radical modern artist whose innovative approach placed light, material, and form at the forefront. After gaining wide recognition in Paris around 1893, his influence extended to artists including Picasso, Matisse, Boccioni, and Brancusi.
