Readers of these stories may wonder what inspired me to write them; well, I had several reasons for writing them. For years I have listened to many selfish people chatter on and on about first one thing and then another, without taking a break to listen to anyone else. It was obvious to me, if not anyone else, that those people thought their feelings and opinions were the only ones that mattered. There's no room for selfishness or opinionated people in marriages or in friendships. Learning doesn't always come from books; but from every living being, no matter how big or how small. Every day can be a learning experience, if we allow ourselves to take the time to listen; not just with our ears, but with our hearts as well.
